In our fast-paced lives, finding a few moments to quieten the mind can be a real reprieve. But achieving mindfulness can be a challenge for many. Here are a few tips that have helped us on our journey towards mindfulness.
Journaling
Journaling is a great way to focus in on how you are feeling, what you have experienced during the day and what you hope to achieve in the future. It is a space in which you can let your mind wonder and explore without the stress of the day.
Breath
Focus on your breathing. When you find yourself in a stressful environment recentre yourself with some mindful breathing. Taking a few moments can help you clear your mind and approach your next challenge in a more considered manner.
Exercise
Doing daily exercise is a great option to improve your mindfulness. Try focus on listening to your body and how it feels as you carry out the routine. A good stretch after a workout can help extend this process.
Eating
Our favourite. Work on savouring the experience of eating delicious healthy food. From a delicious bowl of Alpen Muesli in the morning through to a decadent trifle after dinner – take time to enjoy the splendour of food.
Buddy Up
Working on becoming more mindful is challenging and takes time. We have found having a mindfulness buddy helpful in allowing you to share in the journey. Not everyday will be easy or a success and it a great to be able to share with someone who is going through the same journey.
